Deus: A Masterclass in Film-Making
In the world of cinema, there are films that come and go, forgotten almost as soon as they are released. And then there are films that stay with you long after the credits have rolled, films that haunt you and make you question everything you thought you knew about life.
Deus is one such film. Directed by Michael Bay and starring Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron, this epic science-fiction drama tells the story of a future world where humanity has been split into two factions: those who believe in the existence of God, and those who do not.
The film begins with a stunning opening sequence that sets the stage for what is to come: an unexpected meteor shower hits Earth, causing massive destruction and wiping out most of the planet’s population. As civilization rebuilds itself amidst chaos and uncertainty, a new religious movement takes hold – one that worships the meteor as a deity.
