Small Engine Repair: A Dazzling Tale of Revenge and Redemption
The 2021 movie Small Engine Repair is a gripping drama that tells the story of three old friends who reunite after several years to recall their wild past, only to find themselves caught up in a sinister plot of revenge and tragedy.
Set in Manchester, New Hampshire, the film delivers a heartfelt and often humorous exploration of masculinity, friendship, and the search for redemption. Directed by John Pollono, who also wrote the screenplay based on his acclaimed stage play, Small Engine Repair boasts an all-star cast that includes John Bernthal, Shea Whigham, Jon Polito, Jordana Spiro and Spencer House.
The plot centers on Frank (John Bernthal), an ex-con who works at his family’s auto repair shop with his buddies Swaino (Shea Whigham) and Packie (John Polito). Together they spend their days fixing engines and reminiscing about their misspent youth. Frank’s estranged daughter Crystal (Ciara Bravo) comes to visit him one day after many years apart.
