In the world of movies, there are some that truly capture the essence of life, with all its ups and downs. The In Crowd is one such movie that is both engaging and thought-provoking. The film is a masterpiece produced by Mark Damon and directed by Mary Lambert. It features an excellent cast that brings to life complex characters that will leave you thinking long after the credits have rolled.
The plot of The In Crowd follows Adrien Williams (Lori Heuring), a young woman who finds herself on the wrong side of the law. After being arrested for drug possession, she’s taken to Crawford Sanitarium – a private mental institution where she meets a group of posh young people. Among them is Brittany Foster (Susan Ward), who takes Adrien under her wing and introduces her to the privileged world of the wealthy.
As Adrien becomes more involved with her new friends, she discovers dark secrets about their pasts. Brittany’s ex-boyfriend Bobby (Matthew Settle) becomes obsessed with Adrien, causing tension between her and Brittany. Meanwhile, Dr. Henry Thompson (Daniel Hugh Kelly), who runs the sanitarium, harbours his own secrets.
The film explores themes such as classism, wealth disparity, mental health issues and privilege in a thought-provoking manner. The storyline does an excellent job of keeping viewers engaged throughout the entire film.
The acting in The In Crowd was phenomenal, with each actor delivering strong performances that brought their characters to life. Lori Heuring was particularly outstanding as Adrien Williams, capturing her character’s emotional turmoil perfectly. Ward also shone in her role as Brittany Foster, portraying her character’s manipulative nature convincingly.

Its complex characters, thought-provoking themes and suspenseful plot make it a must-watch for anyone looking for an engaging movie that will leave them thinking about life’s complexities long after the credits roll down.
